Foreign media reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, is in discussions with Marvell Technology to jointly develop two new types of artificial intelligence chips for more efficient operation of AI models. One of the chips is a memory processing unit (MPU) designed to work in conjunction with Google’s tensor processing units (TPUs). The other is a new generation of TPU chips optimized for AI inference scenarios. At present, the cooperation between the two parties is still in the negotiation stage, and no formal agreement has been signed.
