This marks the first time the company's monthly revenue has surpassed the NT$7 billion milestone, setting a new all-time monthly high. For the first seven months of the year, Macronix's cumulative revenue reached NT$37.318 billion, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 137.8%.

Winbond Electronics reported a consolidated revenue of NT$26.773 billion in July, representing a month-on-month increase of 29.99% and a year-on-year surge of 291.55%. For the first seven months of the year, the company's cumulative consolidated revenue reached NT$124.87 billion, marking a year-on-year growth of 160.97%.

According to media reports, NVIDIA is developing a new technology that could allow SSDs to act as additional VRAM in the future. When a graphics card runs out of VRAM, it could use data stored on a fast NVMe SSD instead, which could particularly benefit games with extremely high VRAM requirements or AI inference workloads. The feature is said to be based on RTX IO and Microsoft's DirectStorage technology. Although officially unconfirmed, the rumors reflect NVIDIA's exploration of software- and system-architecture-based solutions to address the growing tension between rising memory demands and hardware costs.

Winbond recently held an investor conference, during which President Chen Pei-Ming stated that the existing Module A in Kaohsiung will see its monthly production capacity expanded from the current 15,000 wafers to 24,000 wafers, with wafer‑out production expected to commence at the end of this year.However, after the Module A expansion is completed, the factory space will be almost entirely utilized. Adata has announced its July revenue, with consolidated monthly revenue reaching NT$18.38 billion, up 25.4% month-on-month and surging 331.3% year-on-year. This marks the company's fifth consecutive month of setting new historical highs. In terms of product, DRAM revenue reached NT$14.08 billion, accounting for 76.6% of total revenue; SSDs accounted for 20.1%, while memory cards, USB flash drives, and other products made up the remaining 3.3%. For the first seven months of the year, cumulative consolidated revenue reached NT$82.65 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 206.7% and already substantially surpassing the company's full-year revenue for 2025.

According to media reports, Adata recently stated at its investor conference that driven by increasing demand, rising prices, and stable supply sources, the company expects its third-quarter operations to outperform the second quarter and further expand its full-year operating results. The company is optimistic that DRAM and NAND Flash prices are likely to maintain an upward trend from the fourth quarter through the first half of 2027. At present, memory market supply remains persistently tight, with DRAM supply expected to be even tighter in 2027 than in 2026. As PC and server platforms continue to undergo upgrades, DDR5 has become the mainstream choice in the market. In the long term, DDR5 is expected to face tighter supply conditions compared to DDR4.

AMD has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Taalas, a Toronto-based AI inference chip startup. Taalas produces chips purpose-built for inference tasks, baking AI models directly into silicon chips. Its products can be customized or hardwired for a single AI model.

CoreWeave has announced a multi-year strategic agreement with Solidigm, under which Solidigm will provide priority allocation of enterprise solid-state drives (SSDs) to support CoreWeave's AI cloud platform. This agreement expands CoreWeave's integrated AI approach, helping to ensure that storage capacity across the rest of its platform can scale in tandem with growing customer demand.

FADU's sixth-generation (Gen6) SSD controllers have recently completed development and will begin shipping in the second half of this year, delivering more than double the performance compared to the fifth-generation (Gen5) models. The company also announced that it will start supplying samples of its seventh-generation (Gen7) SSD controllers in 2028. Industry sources indicate that due to near-full capacity utilization of its 4nm process node, Samsung has adjusted its strategy and is actively promoting its mature and cost-competitive 5nm process to attract both domestic and international fabless customers. According to media reports, Nanya Technology's board of directors has passed several major resolutions, announcing the launch of a long-term investment plan for its new 5A fab. The capital expenditure budget for 2026 to 2029 is capped at NT$346.6 billion. According to media reports, job postings show that Anthropic is hiring engineers to design custom chips for its Claude AI models. An Anthropic spokesperson said the company is forming an internal chip team to develop custom silicon for Claude, marking the first time that the company has publicly acknowledged the plan. Anthropic will pursue co-design of hardware and models, enabling Claude to run faster and more efficiently at the scale customers require.
