Samsung Reportedly Actively Considering Adopting China-Made DRAM for Mid-to-Low-End Smartphones Sold in China

According to South Korean media reports, Samsung Electronics' MX business division is actively considering adopting China-made DRAM memory for its mid-to-low-end smartphones sold in the Chinese market, represented by the Galaxy A series. The reports indicate that Chinese smartphone brands have lowered their shipment targets for mid-to-low-end models due to continuously surging costs of components like memory chips. This has left a gap in potential market share while simultaneously releasing a certain volume of lower-cost China-made LPDDR5X memory. Samsung's MX division aims to leverage this memory to reduce smartphone manufacturing costs, thereby expanding sales volume at a relatively reasonable price point.
