Samsung Resumes Investment in NAND Flash Memory Production Line at Pyeongtaek Plant

By: QIN 13 hours ago

According to South Korean media reports, Samsung Electronics has officially restarted its investment in the NAND flash memory production line at its P4 plant in Pyeongtaek, with related production equipment beginning to be moved into the plant. This investment, previously postponed due to the semiconductor market downturn, signifies Samsung's proactive strategy to address market recovery and future demand growth.

As a core part of its strategic plan, Samsung plans to invest up to 10 trillion won (approximately 53.3 billion yuan) in capital expenditure by 2026, with a clear focus on its three core businesses: DRAM memory, NAND flash memory, and wafer foundry. Upon completion of the expansion plan, the Pyeongtaek plant is expected to achieve a significant increase in monthly capacity: 60,000 NAND flash memory wafers, 30,000 DRAM memory wafers, and 20,000 wafer foundry wafers.
