Alibaba Mulls Ordering 40k-50k AMD MI308 AI Chips

According to industry sources, Alibaba is considering placing an order for 40,000 to 50,000 MI308 AI chips with AMD. The MI308 is an AI accelerator chip specifically designed by AMD for the Chinese market, serving as a downscaled version of the MI300 series. Primarily targeted at the artificial intelligence computing sector, it retains 304 Compute Units (CU) and a 192GB HBM3 memory configuration.
