China's MIIT Responds To Memory Chip Price Hikes: Multiple Measures To Ensure Supply Chain Stability

In response to recent memory chip price increases that have led to price adjustments for end-user products, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) stated at a Q1 press conference that it will take multiple measures to ensure the stability of industrial and supply chains. Specific actions include: supporting both domestic and foreign-funded enterprises to increase investment and production capacity; promoting closer coordination between terminal manufacturers and memory companies to diversify supply channels; strengthening channel management, and cooperating with relevant authorities to crack down on hoarding, profiteering, and other market disruptions in accordance with the law. The MIIT said it will effectively address supply-demand imbalances and support the healthy development of the memory industry through boosting supply, expanding channels, and stabilizing market order.
