According to Korean media citing industry sources, Samsung Electronics' foundry division is in discussions with major Chinese automakers, including BYD, regarding contracts for autonomous driving system chips (SoCs). It is reportedly that they are negotiating for orders involving 2nm and 4nm process technologies. If the deals are finalized, more major Chinese automakers will join Samsung's client roster, in addition to its existing customer NIO, which already uses Samsung's 5nm process to produce autonomous driving chips.
