Samsung Electronics U.S. Taylor Plant About to Start Production, Accelerating Preparations

By: M 1 hour ago

According to Korean media citing industry sources, following a large-scale deployment of overseas employees last June, Samsung Electronics has continued to send key personnel to its Taylor plant in Texas, U.S.A. Currently, approximately 100 overseas employees are already stationed at the Taylor plant alone, and the total number of personnel eventually assigned to the facility is expected to reach several hundred, including dispatched workers and employees from partner companies.

In addition, Samsung Electronics has designated the Taylor plant as a target location for the first time and has begun recruiting interns for next summer. The company has also launched the "Samsung Emerging Engineer Development (SEED) Program," which is a recruitment initiative for university graduates majoring in engineering. Industry observers widely believe that these are primarily preliminary measures to ensure stable operations at the plant once production begins within the year.

Reports indicate that Samsung Electronics began full-scale equipment installation at the Taylor plant in July of last year and is preparing for trial production in September this year. This suggests that on-site preparations are accelerating as the start of production draws near.

With the utilization rate of domestic production lines in South Korea approaching 100% by the end of the year, the operational demand for the Taylor plant appears to be growing. Samsung Electronics' basic strategy is to complete plant construction and mass production verification as much as possible this year, and to begin full-scale mass production next year.
