China NEV Sales Accounted for Over Half of Total Car Sales in December 2025​

According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in December 2025 reached 1.718 million units and 1.71 million units respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 12.3% and 7.2%. Notably, NEVs accounted for 52.3% of the total new car sales during the month, marking a significant milestone where NEVs constituted more than half of the monthly market for the first time.
