On April 15th, Elon Musk officially announced that Tesla's next-generation AI5 chip had completed tape-out, while the AI6 and Dojo3 chips are also under simultaneous development. According to news reports, the AI5 chip will be manufactured using a dual-foundry model with TSMC and Samsung, taking place in two different factories. TSMC plans to use a 3nm process, while Samsung plans to use a 2nm process for pilot production. This chip will primarily be used in Tesla's Autopilot system (HW5.0) and the Dojo supercomputing system, aiming to further enhance AI computing capabilities and the overall intelligence level of vehicles.
