Phison Partners with Intel to Bring Memory Expansion Technology to Intel AI PC Platform

By: M 12 hours ago

At COMPUTEX 2026, Phison announced a collaboration with Intel to integrate its Pascari aiDAPTIV memory expansion technology into the Intel AI PC platform, breaking through the traditional bottleneck of DRAM capacity limitations in PCs and enabling AI PCs to run larger Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) models and agentic AI applications locally.

Phison's Pascari aiDAPTIV memory expansion technology is now compatible with 3rd generation Core Ultra processors (Panther Lake/PTL) and supports the OpenVINO toolkit. aiDAPTIV leverages high-performance NAND Flash working with DRAM to create a novel AI memory architecture, reducing the system memory capacity required for large models.

According to internal testing, a system equipped with aiDAPTIV requires only 16GB of DRAM to run an AI model with 26 billion (26B) parameters. Without this technology, 32GB of DRAM would be needed to handle the same workload.

Pua Khein-Seng, Phison CEO, stated that AI PCs are evolving toward running more complex on-device AI workloads. OEMs and developers can run large AI models at a lower cost while maintaining data privacy and computational efficiency under the collaboration between Phison and Intel.
